Zelton Dixon, 69, of Folkston, passed away Wednesday, May 26 at his residence. He was born in Nassau County, Florida to the late John Leon and Cora Belle Conner Dixon. He retired from the Department of the Interior Division of Fish and Wildlife. He was a member of Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church in Patterson Georgia where he served as Deacon. He was preceded in death by 2-Sisters: Mattie Ruth Crews and Louise Canaday, and a Brother: Herman Dixon; a Son: Everette “Rusty” Edenfield;4-Brothers-In-Law: Lavonne Crews, Teddy Canaday, Yulee Canaday and Vernon Lee.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years: Sue C. Dixon; 7-Children: Floyd (Sandy) Edenfield, Michele (John) Edenfield, Amanda (Lawson) Lafferty, Jamie (Becky) Dixon, Mary Evelyn (Ronnie) Adams, Dawson “Pete” Edenfield, and Darrell (Debbie) Edenfield; 2-Sisters: Grace (Freddie) Woolard, and Leila Davis; 1-Brother: Wesley (Ginger) Dixon; a Sister-In-Law: Lynda Lee 22-Grandchildren and 29-Great Grandchildren.
Mr. Dixon will be taken to his residence at 12254 US Highway 1 in Folkston Thursday May 27 to lie in state there until service time. Funeral services will be held Saturday May 29 at 2:00 PM at the Shepard Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Alvin Johnson, Elder Johnny Lee, Elder Jimmy Brannen and Elder Randy Strickland officiating. Burial will follow in Little Phebe Cemetery.
