Zella Gaines

Zella Mae Crews Gaines, 76, of Folkston, passed away December 29 at Life Care Center of Hilliard, Florida. She was a native and lifelong resident of Charlton County. She was the daughter of the late Charlie C. Crews and Della Johns Crews. She was a member of Grace Chapel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband: William Eldridge Gaines; a Sister: Evelyn Lairsey and a Brother: Alvin Crews.

She is survived by her son: William Jason (Denise) Gaines; 2-Granddaughters: Allie and Amelia Gaines; a Grandson: Allan (Jamie) Taylor; a Great Grandson: Landon Taylor; 2-Sisters: Alene Griffin, Jenny (Jesse) Hilton; a Brother: Charles H. (Linda) Crews; a Step-Son: Mike (Carol) Gaines; and 2-Step-Great Grandchildren: Jennifer and Laura Gaines.

Pallbearers: Steve Griffin, Allen Griffin, Harold Crews, Don Crews, Kevin Hair and Brian Cribb.

The family will receive friends Friday January 1 at Shepard Funeral Home from 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 2 at 11:00 AM at Grace Chapel Baptist Church with Dr. Norman Sweeting officiating. Burial will follow in Sardis Cemetery.
