Wylene Varnadoe Howard, 66, of Folkston, GA passed away at her residence Thursday March 19, 2015. She was born in Mobile, Alabama February 10, 1949. She was a member of North Jacksonville Baptist and sang for many years in the choir at First Baptist Church of Jacksonville. She was very active in Relay for Life and spoke on several occasions for it.
She was preceded in death by her father: Edward Sanders Varnadoe and her oldest brother: Richard Varnadoe.
She is survived by her husband: Glenn D. Howard of Folkston, GA; a step-daughter: Carrie (David) Pinter of Brunswick, GA; her mother: Ruth Varnadoe of Lumber City, GA; 2-Brothers: Roy (Carolyn) Varnadoe of Lumber City, GA & Larry (Janice) Varnadoe of Kathleen, GA; a brother-in-law: Wayne (Martha) Howard of Boulougne, FL; a sister-in-law: Annette (Paul) Dilgard of Anniston, AL and 2-step-grandchildren; several Nieces, Nephews and other relatives.
The family will receive friends Sunday, March 22 at Shepard Funeral Home from 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 23 at 12 noon at North Jacksonville Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Coram officiating. Mrs. Howard will lie in state at the church an hour prior to service. Burial will follow in Jacksonville National Cemetery.
