Whitney Eugene Davis

Whitney Eugene Davis, 39, of Folkston, Georgia, passed away on November 26, 2024. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida on May 7, 1985, to Ronald Eugene Davis and Kay Canaday Davis. Whitney was a lifelong resident of Charlton County. At a young age, he earned a blackbelt in karate. He was educated in Charlton County Schools and graduated in the Class of 2003. After graduation, he attended Coastal Pines Technical College and graduated in 2005 with a degree in Air Conditioning Technology. Whitney had a love of hunting that included hog hunting when he was younger. His favorite thing was bear hunting and being with his wonderful friends. He treasured his grandparents, Pa Canaday, Mema Canaday, and Granny Davis, and had a special place in his heart for his nephew, Mason. He loved his family dearly and his special group of friends who loved him unconditionally. His beloved dog, Pearl, was his constant companion and was with him until the end.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather: Eugene Davis.

He is survived by his parents: Ronald Davis and Kay Canaday Davis; sister: Joalby R. Davis; nephew: Mason P. Davis; beloved pet: Pearl; maternal grandparents: Doyle and Elizabeth “Betty” Canaday; paternal grandmother: Coy Ann Davis; uncles and aunts: Jimmy and Barbara Davis, Calvin Davis, Keith and Kathy Canaday, and Joan Canaday and Jesse Crews; and numerous cousins and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Homeland Cemetery with Bro. Robbie Paulk and Bro. Ronnie Pollock officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mason Davis, Clint Davis, Scott Davis, John Canaday, Tye Crews, Spencer Crews, Hal Gowen, Wesley Whitfield, Doug McCallister, Brandon Pooser, and Marcus Thompson. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
