Verne Pickren, Jr

Verne Johnson Pickren, Jr., 78, of Fernandina Beach, FL passed away peacefully at his home Thursday, December 16 following a lengthy illness.  He was born January 8, 1943 in Jacksonville, FL to the late Verne Johnson Pickren, Sr. and Leila Jeanette Tracy Pickren Gibson.  He began ESP in 1984 and supplied air purification systems to mills all over the world.  He was a member of the Folkston United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife:  Dr. Catherine “Cathy” Grant Pickren; his sons and daughter in law:  Tracy Pickren and Mark and Audrey Pickren; a brother and sister-in-law:  Porter and Pamela Pickren; sisters and brothers-in-law:  Marcia and John Fraser and Lisa and David Larson; grandchildren:  Gage Pickren, Jamie Pickren, Colton Pickren, Jolie Pickren and Ben Pickren; a great grandchild:  Barrett Pickren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 20 at 11:00 AM at the Folkston United Methodist Church with Pastor Robbie Paulk officiating.  Burial will follow in Pineview Cemetery.
