Miss Vanice Inez McLean, 89, of Folkston, GA died Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at home on the Old McLean Home Place in Charlton County. She was born May 16, 1926 in Charlton County to the late Thomas Hugh McLean, Sr. and Mary Lucille Brock McLean. She was a lifelong resident of Charlton County. Miss McLean was formerly employed with the Charlton Memorial Hospital as a Bookkeeper. Known as Vannie by most, she was a kind, gentle soul who loved all animals and children. She had a great sense of humor and even at the end of her life kept her appreciation for a good laugh. She gave all she had to those she loved and we will surely miss her.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Hugh McLean, Jr. She is survived by her brothers: Dr. Omer (Pat) McLean, of Baxley, GA, Dr. Frederick (Carol) McLean of Sylvester, GA; her sisters: Helen Newell of Folkston, GA and Margaret O’Hearn of Sylvester, GA and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 13 at 11:00 AM at Prospect United Methodist Church with interment following in the church cemetery.
