Troy L. Guynn, 65, of Hilliard, better known as “Boss Hog” passed away December 18, 2007 from heart related problems. He was a Mason and Shriner. He served the Town of Hilliard as Mayor for 15 years and Councilman for 4 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Boulougne. During his tenure here, he involved himself in several business adventures: Auto Mechanics, bodywork, Filling Stations, Logging, Saw Shop, NAPA Parts, Bud's Restaurant, Patricia Ann's Restaurant and several Rentals. His hobbies included motorcycles, and cars, and “saving a dollar” by doing things himself. He was preceded in death by his father: John “Bunny” and mother: Nettie Guynn; 2-Brothers: Zelton and Glenn Guynn, and ½ brother: Henry Lee.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years: Clara Guynn; Son: Gerald (Daphne) Guynn; 2-Daughters: Patricia (Glenn) Haddock and Barbara (James) Miller all of Hilliard; 8-Grandchildren: Eric Haddock, Summer Smith, Winter Miller, Dyllan Miller, Autumn, TJ, and Harley Guynn, and Crystal Dowie; 6-Geat Grandchildren: Lantz, Savana, Daniel, Cheyenne, Mackenzie, and Taylor; 2-Brothers: Avon (Sue) Guynn of Brunswick, and Floyd (Evelyn) Guynn of Hilliard.
The family will receive friends Thursday December 20 at Shepard Funeral Home in Folkston from 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held Friday December 21 at the First Baptist Church of Boulougne at 3:00 PM with Dr. Robert Tibbs officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Hilliard.
