Travis Raulerson, Sr

December 21, 1927 — November 23, 2010

Travis Raulerson, Sr., 82, son of the late John Donald and Omage Varnes Raulerson went home to be with the Lord on November 23, 2010. Travis was a good, honest, Christian man and was a member of New Life Baptist Church of St. George Georgia. He served with the Merchant Marines from 1944 to 1945 till he was old enough to join the navy. He served our country during World War II with the Navy from 1945 to 1948 aboard the USS Widgeon and USS Jicarilla. He was honored with the World War II Victory Medal and Good Conduct Medal.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 44 years, Hazel Raulerson, his beloved brothers: Russell, Merritt, Leon and Henry Raulerson, his sisters: Willie Mae Simmons and Onie Mae Raulerson.
He is survived by his son: Travis”Buddy”(Kim) Raulerson, Jr.; Grandchildren: Travis”Bud” Raulerson, III and Kelly(Mark) Seyler; Great-grandchildren: Brittany and Tiffany Steele, Gage and Macy Seyler; His sister: Joyce(Charlie) Edwards.Step-daughters: Freida Bachmauer, Betty Ann Fagan and the late Shirley Strickland; Step-son: James”Jr”Capehart; several step grandchildren, Step Great-grandchildren, Nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers: David Steele, Dwight Harrison, Cecil Hodges, Archie Carroll, Wade Tilson, Paul Batten, Sr. and Allan Harrison.
The family will receive friends at New Life Baptist Church, Sunday, November 28, 2010 from 1 until 3 PM with Funeral services beginning at 3:00 PM. Rev. James Conner officiating. Burial will follow in River Road Cemetery.
