Tommy Taylor

Tommy McCoy Taylor, 73, of Folkston, went to be with our Lord February 1, 2010 at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Jacksonville after a lengthy illness. He was born in Waycross, Georgia to the late Anton and Margaret Osborne Taylor. He was a member and Deacon of Camp Pinckney Baptist Church. He retired from the United States Air Force in 1974 after 20 years of service. He then worked 22 years in Civil Service at Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base where he retired in 2001.

He is survived by his wife of 19 years: Juanita Taylor; 2-Sons: Bart A. Taylor and Carl B. (Michelle) Taylor; 1-Daughter: Judy (Steve) Van Buskirk all of Folkston; 2-Step-Sons: James Unangst of Locust Grove, GA and Daniel Unangst of Folkston, GA; 2-Step-Daughters: Cynthia (Steve) McMillan of Newcastle, IN and Sandra Maldanado of Kingsland, GA; 20-Grandchildren; 18-Great Grandchildren; 2-Brothers: Ronald Taylor and Glenn (Glenda) Taylor, both of Folkston, Ga. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother: Chester Taylor, his first wife: Nora B. Taylor; a son: Bret M. Taylor and a grandson: Christopher Bradley Taylor.

The family will receive friends Thursday, February 4 at Shepard Funeral Home from 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 5 at Camp Pinckney Baptist Church at 2:00 PM with Rev. David Beckham and Rev. Ernie Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors.
