Tommy Dowling

Tommy Roscoe Dowling, 64 of Folkston, passed away Monday, June 22, 2009 at his residence. He was born November 21, 1944 in Folkston to Jessie Sikes Hickox and Lonnie Dowling. He was a lifelong resident of Folkston and had been employed with Gilman Paper Company in St. Marys as a Digester Cook for 33 years before retiring.
He is survived by his wife: Faye Dowling of Folkston; Two daughters: Donna Alexander of Fernandina Beach, Fl.; Teresa Vernon of Middleburg, Fl.; One sister: Jeanetta Bell of Callahan, Fl.; Four Grandchildren: Kristin Davis, Bradley Alexander, Lauren Vernon and Caroline Vernon; Several Nieces, Nephews and other relatives.
The family will receive friends, Wednesday, June 24, 2009 from 6 until 8 PM at Shepard Funeral Home. Contributions may be made to People's Baptist Church, Hwy. 40, Folkston, Georgia 31537. Graveside services will be Thursday, June 25, 2009 at 10:00 AM at Corinth Cemetery with Rev. Mike Easter officiating.
