It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beautiful wife, mother, and grandmother, Mrs. Tommie Joan Aldridge. She died peacefully at home on Sunday, August 29, 2021.
Joan was born on July 20, 1936 in Savannah, Georgia, the daughter of the late John Thomas and Geneva Hope Gatehouse. Her life was dedicated to serving her husband and raising her children in a loving home. For fun, Joan enjoyed crocheting/sewing, reading, using her green thumb to grow her flowers and camping with her family.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving husband, Owen Lester Aldridge; children, Debra Arlene Aldridge White, Pamela Charlene Aldridge and Tracy Wendell Aldridge (Julie); and grandchildren, John Owen White, Jordan White (Lauren), Callie Aldridge, Brianne Nicole Aldridge Lyon (Gregg), Shelby Aldridge, Ashlee Kessler and Melissa Hankins and several great grandchildren.
Visitation with Joan’s family will take place from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 31, 2021. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in Sardis Cemetery following the service.
