Thomas Franklin Bryant, 72, of Folkston, GA passed away on Friday, August 18, 2023. He was born in Folkston, GA on June 10, 1951, to the late James I. and Lois Chesser Bryant. Tommy was a member of the Folkston Jaycees, served on the Farm Service Agency’s Charlton County Committee, proud player on Folkston Motorpart’s and coach on Whitey’s men’s softball teams, and a member of the Transportation Union at Kings Bay. He enjoyed driving the bus and kept statistics on the sidelines for the CCHS football and basketball teams for nearly 30 years. He also loved farming tobacco, raising pigs, playing golf, and Callin’ the Dawgs in Athens.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister; Diane Bryant Harris, and a nephew; Eric Bryant.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years; Patricia Crawford Bryant, 3-children; Robert (Courtney) Bryant, Carrie Bryant, and Zeke (Danielle) Bryant, 3-grandchildren; Cody Davis, Cade Bryant, and Hazel Bryant, a brother; Jimmy (Linda) Bryant, and 3-nieces; Kim (David) Guthrie, Erica (Joe) Thomas, and Christina Harris.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home. A service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home with Rev. Ray McMillan officiating. Burial will follow at Trader’s Hill Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to wear their best Georgia Bulldawgs attire in Tommy’s honor.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Trader’s Hill Cemetery Fund. Donations may be sent to Southeastern Bank, P.O. Box 308, Folkston, GA 31537.
