Thelma Ganey

Thelma Crawford Ganey, 85 of Folkston passed away March 10, 2008 at her residence after an extended illness.
A life long resident of Charlton County, she was born July 28, 1922 to John D. Crawford and Gussie Reynolds Crawford. She was employed at Gilman Paper Company, where she retired after 33 years. She was a member of United International Paper Workers Union #0958. She was very supportive of local charities and events in the community and known to her children and many other children as Granny. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church of Folkston.
Survivors include: Four children: Phyllis Haddock of Hilliard, Fl., Bonnie L. Williams of Springhill, Fl., P.J. Aschauer of Folkston, Ga.; Jerry Ganey (Sheryl)of Hilliard, Fl.;
One Brother: Gene Crawford ; Three Sisters: Neal Bates, Gencie Rewis and Retha Mae Raulerson all of Moniac, Ga.; Ten Grandchildren; 12 Great-Grandchildren; 2 Great-great-grandchildren and several Nieces, Nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband; Louis Earl Ganey, grandson: Sgt. Lewie Ganey;and a granddaughter,Beth Tutt Wright
The family will receive friends, Wednesday, March 12, 2008 from 6 until 8 PM at Shepard Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Thursday, March 13, 2008 at 4:00 PM in the Chapel of Shepard Funeral Home with Rev. E.C. Crews and Rev. Tim King officiating. Interment will follow in Little Phebe Cemetery.
