Susie Thomas

Susie Crawford Thomas, 100, of Hilliard, passed away Aug. 13, 2008. She was born September 23, 1907 in Blackshear, GA to the late Daniel Beal and Rilla Walker Crawford. She retired from the Nassau County School Food Service after 28 years. The last years she was the lunchroom manager at Hilliard Middle-Senior High School. She was preceded in death by parents, 9-brothers, 2-sisters, her husband: Ephraim O. Thomas, and a daughter: Virginia T. Dubberly.

She is survived by her 2-daughters: Julia Herrington, of Hilliard, FL, and Sandra (Sam) Thompson of St. George, GA; 9-Grandchildren: Bill (Maria) Dubberly of Nassauville, FL, Terry (Sue) Dubberly of Yulee and Rhonda Dubberly of Fernandina Beach, FL, Tim (Judy) Dubberly of Nassauville, FL, Bryan (Judy) Herrington of Port St. Lucie, FL, Stanley Herrington of Hilliard, FL, Phyllis (Eric) Helms of Hilliard, FL, Angela (Buddy) Conner of Bryceville, FL, and Tony (Jeanie) Thompson of St. George, GA.; 17-Great Grandchildren; 8-Great Great Grandchildren; and 1-sister: Irene O'Steen of Blackshear, GA.

The family will receive friends Friday August 15 at Shepard Funeral Home in Folkston, GA from 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held Saturday August 16 at 2:00 PM at Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Dan Drawdy officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
