STEVEN YORK

Steven M. York, 64, of Hilliard, FL passed away August 27 in Jacksonville, FL following an extended illness.  He was born in Baltimore, Maryland ON September 24, 1949 to the late Thomas Andrew York and Ann Lee Crutchfield York.  He proudly served his country in the US Army 23rd Infantry Division “Americal” during the Vietnam Conflict.  He was a member of the American Legion Post #401 in Hilliard.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter:  Tracy D. Varnes; his siblings:  Rick York and Andy Picket and great grandson:  Ryder Jones Hilt.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years:  Patsy DeBerry York; a daughter:  Karen (Christian) Lyons; Siblings:  Betty (Bobby) Nelson, Lindy (Earl) Pickett and Nancy Hatfield; Grandchildren:  Kalyn “Puddin”  Frazier (Brett Hilt), Eric Lyons, Cody Lyons, Kristen Varnes, Holden Whiten, Brock Whiten, Tyler Beville, Bradley Beville & Kaylee Beville; great grandchildren:  Peyton Hilt & Percy Lyons; an Adopted Daughter:  Roseann (Jeremiah) Beville; and a number of nieces, nephews and “Special Children and Grandchildren”.
The family will receive friends Monday September 1 at Shepard Funeral Home in Folkston, GA from 6-8 PM.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 2 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Shepard Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Kearnes officiating.  Committal services will be held Tuesday, September 2 at 2:30 PM in the Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL with military honors.
