Shirley Raper

Shirley Ann Snellgrove Raper, 78, of Folkston, GA passed away Tuesday, August 11 in Jacksonville, FL after a courageous battle with kidney disease and results from a massive stroke.   She was born April 6, 1942 in Waycross, GA to the late James E. Snellgrove, Sr. and Enda Blount Snellgrove.  She was a homemaker and a member of Camp Pinckney Baptist Church.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Raper and 2-brothers:  James E. Snellgrove, Jr and Ronald Snellgrove.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother.  She is survived by her children:  Manuel (Maria) Ray, Cheryl (Eddie) Crews, Debbie Woolard, Glynn (Pam) Raper; a sister:  Frances (Roy) Lansdell; a brother:  Charles (Marilyn) Snellgrove; grandchildren:  Jason (Ansley) Ray, Michael (Alyssa) Ray, Chasity (Vandell) Dasher, Bryan (Anna) Crews, Brandi Woolard, Holli Woolard, Alicia (Pete) Mathis, China (Jonathan) Teabeau, Paige Raper; 21-great grandchildren and 2-great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 15 at Camp Pinckney Baptist Church at 11:00 AM with Rev. Tim Hall officiating.  The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.
