Sandra Gayle Aldridge Conner, 74 of Folkston passed away November 30, 2012 at her residence surrounded by her loving family, after an extended illness. She was born September 3, 1938 to Loyce C. and Mary B. Colson Aldridge in Charlton County, Georgia. She had been employed as a Clerk with the City of Folkston, worked with the Chamber of Commerce, Owned and Operated Conner’s Florist, Charter President of the Business and Professional Women of Charlton County, Organized the first Political Rally for State wide Government and Local Politicians. She was a member of Camp Pinckney Baptist Church serving as a former Sunday School Teacher and Treasurer.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years: Chris C. Conner of Folkston; Two daughters: September Conner Carter( Sherwood) of Macon; Shannon Conner Carter (Steve) of Folkston; one son: Scott Conner of Folkston; five grandchildren: Autumn Harvell (Charles) of Macon; Amelia Huntsinger of Macon; Brandon Carter, Derek Carter and Savannah Conner, all of Folkston; one great-grandchild; Charles Jimmy (CJ) Harvell of Macon; her mother: Mary Belle”Betty”Aldridge of Folkston; one sister: Cherie Aldridge (Rod Stearns) of Tampa, Florida; Nephew: Dylan Stearns of Tampa, Florida; and many Nieces and other relatives.
The family will receive friends Monday, December 3, 2012 at Shepard Funeral Home from 6 until 8 PM. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at Camp Pinckney Baptist Church at 11:00 AM with Rev. Tim Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery.
