Samuel Sikes

Samuel Jacob Sikes, 86, of Hilliard, FL passed away August 7, 2018 in Jacksonville, FL.  He was born September 6, 1931 in Nassau County Florida.  He served his country during WW II in the US Army.  He retired from the City of Hilliard Road Department.  Mr. Sikes was a member of Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church.  His passion in life was farming.

Mr. Sikes was preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Ola Sikes; a granddaughter:  Christina Johnson; 2-brothers:  Jack and James Snowden and 2-sisters:  Louise Ricketson and Helen Ricketson.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years:  Helen M. Sikes; 2-children:  Denise (Frank) Tolosi and Sandra (Mike) Tolosi; 4-grandchildren:  Lisa Tolosi, Candace Parker, Carrie Johnson and Jacob Tolosi; 6-great grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

The family will receive friends Friday, August 10 at Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home from 6-8 PM.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 11 at 11:00 AM in the Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Jimmy Brannan officiating.  Burial will follow in Mill Creek Cemetery.
