Sam Morris Eason, Sr., 82, of Folkston, GA passed away Friday, March 26 in Savannah, GA. He was born August 18, 1938 in Reidsville, GA to the late Willie Norwood “Brinson” Eason and Ouida Carr Eason. He retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation. Mr. Sam was a member of Camp Pinckney Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister: Elene Eason Rowe.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years: Aline Oglesby Eason; his children: Sam (Debbie) Eason, Jr., Lynn Connolly, Christie Hall, Mistie (Mark) Hickox, John Hall and Melissa (Cody) Rewis; grandchildren: Samantha (Brad) Love, Seth Connolly, Maranda Evans, Cameron Lynn, Caleb Lynn, Dylan Lynn, Tyler (Gabrielle) Durr, Cassie Durr, Lanee Durr, Blake Taylor, Haley Taylor, Alex Taylor, Colin Todd, Ari Harjula, Hunter Hickox, and Elijah Rewis; great grandchildren: Lawren and Colton Love and Cain and Ethan Edwards and Ethan and Owen Durr; sisters: Lajuan (David) Guinn and Nell (Ken) O’Brian; brother: Maynard (Joyce) Eason and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 31 at 11:00 AM at Camp Pinckney Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Hall and Rev. Joe Eason officiating. The family will receive friends at the church an hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Camp Pinckney Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren: Caleb Lynn, Dylan Lynn, Blake Taylor, Alex Taylor, Colin Todd Cameron Lynn and Seth Connolly. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mr. Sam’s Sunday School Class.
Due to Covid-19, the family would like to ask all attendees to please follow the rules of social distancing and face masks are recommended at the service. Also, anyone that does not feel comfortable with attending the service, the family would like you to know they understand and covet your prayers.
