Ruth Lance

Ruth Mitchell Lance, 87 of Waycross passed away October 18, 2011. She was born in Cairo, Georgia on February 3, 1924 to William Jesse and Josephine Strickland Mitchell. She worked as a Physician’s assistant for Dr. Willis Keene in Folkston before retirement. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Folkston and the Red Hat Society.
Survivors include two sons: Charles Lance, Jr.(Zoe) and Ronald F. Lance (Terri Joe); two brothers: Charles Mitchell and Malcolm Mitchell; one sister Ann Mayne; three grandchildren: Anne Lance, Elizabeth Lance, Taylor Lance; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The family will receive friends Friday, October 21, 2011 from 6 until 8 PM at Shepard Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday, October 22, 2011 at 10:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Folkston with Rev. Randy Jacoby and Rev. Gene McCullough officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Waycross, Georgia.
