Roosevelt Williams

Roosevelt Williams, 76, of Hortense, Georgia went to be with the Lord on August 10, 2014 following an extended illness.  He was born February 19, 1938 to the late John Benjamin Williams and Ollie Mae Rowell Williams. He was a resident of Brantley County for over 34 years.   He was a retired boilermaker at Hercules, Inc. for over 23 years.  He was a member at the Darien Church of God where he taught the Senior Sunday School Class for over 25 years.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years:  Helen Searles Williams; a son:  James Eric Williams (Dee); a daughter:  Sheila Ryals (Cliff); 8-Grandchildren; 2-Great Grandchildren; 2- Sister:  Margaret Carter (Wendell) & Rosene Carter (LC); 2-Brothers:  David Williams (Mildred) & George Williams.
He was preceded in death by a brother:  Bartow Williams and a Sister:  Caroldean Crosby.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 13 at Shepard Funeral Home from 6-8 PM.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 14 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Shepard Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Whaley officiating.  Burial will be in Little Phebe Cemetery.
