Ronald Hood

Ronald Eugene Hood, 71, of Jacksonville, FL passed away July 11, 2020 in the Orange Park Medical Center.  He was born October 7, 1948 in Pittsburg, PA.  At the age of 17, he joined the US Army and served for 6 years.  He lived a large part of his life in the Orlando area then moved to Tennessee for 10 years.  His remaining years were spent in Jacksonville, FL .  Ron was a good hearted man and never knew a stranger.  He always said that Jesus Christ was his savior.  He would help anyone he could.  He loved to laugh and enjoy life, especially fishing on the beach.  He loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with his grandkids.  He was greatly loved and will be sorely missed.

He is survived by his wife:  Sharon Hood of Jacksonville, FL., a son:  Shane Hood of SC; daughters:  Shawnya (Chris) Wilcox of Jacksonville, FL, Shannon (Conswelslo) Hood of Palatka, FL  Shari Lopez of Crescent City, FL; Judy (Brian) Banas, Ashley Newman; 9-grandkids, 3-great grandkids and many other family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 16 at Buford Grove Baptist Church at 11:00 with Rev. Curtis Harrington officiating.  The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
