ROBERT TURNER

January 30, 1942 — August 7, 2013

Robert Quitman Turner, 71, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away August 7, 2013.  He was born in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Ralph Quitman Turner and Daisey Payne Turner.  He was a member of Garden City Methodist Church in Jacksonville.  Mr. Turner Served in the United States Navy for 4 years.  Upon leaving the navy, he attended the University of Florida and graduated with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering.  His career spanned 41 years in various industries and her retired from Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years:  Yvonne Roddenberry turner; 2-Sons:  Timothy and Tracy Turner; a granddaughter:  Bailey Catherine Turner, all of Jacksonville.

A graveside service will be held Friday, August 9 at 10:00 AM at Prospect Cemetery in Folkston, Georgia.  A memorial to celebrate the life of Mr. Turner will be held Friday, August 9 at 12:30 PM at the Garden City United Methodist Church in Jacksonville with Rev. Alan Patz officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial can be made to the Garden city United Methodist Church or a charity of your choice.
