Richard Arthur Nelson, Jr.

Richard Arthur "Randy" Nelson, Jr., 64, of Fernandina Beach, FL passed away Sunday, October 6, 2024, in Jacksonville, FL. He was born October 23, 1959, in Folkston, GA to the late Richard Arthur Nelson, Sr. and Ruby Joyce Bryant Nelson. He retired from the State of Florida Agriculture Division as an Agriculture Inspection Officer after many years of service. He was a member of River of Praise Worship Center.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Julie Charlene Hardin Nelson.

He is survived by his son: Josh Nelson and a host of cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 12 at the Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 AM with Pastor Larry Osborne officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Little Phoebe Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
