Pekka Hatara

Pekka Tuomas Hatara, 71, of Racepond, GA passed away Wednesday July 19th, 2017 at Community Hospice in Jacksonville, Fl. He was born April 24, 1946 in Helsinki, Finland to Helena and Johannes Hatara. Remembering Pekka's life, he saw problems as opportunities to fix and make things better. He touched the lives of a multitude of people in many ways. "Can't be done" was not in his vocabulary. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his son Harry Hatara. He is survived by a son, Peter John Hatara(Jackie Griffin), Gandchildren, Tuija Hatara, Elisabeth, Amelia, and Addison Griffin. Also three sisters, Hilkka Vartiainen (Urpo), Anja Hjelt (Kari),Liisa Kytola (Dennis) and brother Jukka Hatara including many nieces and nephews, and life companion and care giver, Marilyn Johnson. A celebration of life will be held at his home in Racepond, Ga at 3:00 Pm on Sunday, July 23rd friends and acquaintances are invited.
