Ottis Hendrix, Jr. 87 of Boulougne, Florida passed away October 13, 2015 surrounded by family. He was born in Manor, Georgia on October 8, 1928 to Mary Mizell and Ottis Hendrix, Sr. He was a member of the 1946 graduating class of Charlton County High School. Ottis served his Country in the United States Army, attended several colleges, where he took courses in Engineering. He was formerly employed with Pan American Airways at Cape Canaveral; Wolfe Research and Development and a Tour Guide at the Okefenokee Swamp. He was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Boulougne. But with all the things we write here, we his family knew him as a wonderful father and a man that loved others in a very special way.
He is survived by his children: two daughters: Crecia (Mike) Willis of Lady Lake, Florida; Althea (Denny) Gulliford of Plaino, TX; one son: Forrest (Kristina) Hendrix of Stockholm, Sweden; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister: Louise Collier of Oklahoma; a brother-in-law: Cecil Webb of Boulougne, Florida; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother: Henry Arthur Hendrix and a sister: Elizabeth Webb.
A Memorial service will be Sunday evening, October 18, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Boulougne. The family request in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to City Rescue Mission, 426 S. McDuff Ave., Jacksonville, Florida 32254.
