Nora Howell

Our beloved mother, Nora Rowell Howell, age 94 passed away peacefully in her sleep December 29th at Life Care Center of Hilliard.
She was born in Hickox, Georgia October 11, 1918 to Clifford and Ruth Bell Rowell. Married our Dad, Elbert Mathews Howell, in 1937. Married for 46 years, he preceded her in death in 1983. They had seven Children: Kenneth (1939-1997), Harold (1941-1978), Larry (1947-1997). She is survived by one son: Joe Howell; Three Daughters: Sandra and Steve Hendrix; Jackie Holland and Lori Tallevast. She is also survived by `15 grandchildren, 34 Great-grandchildren, 2 Great-great-grandchildren and two more on the way.
One of 10 siblings she was preceded in death by four brothers: Ira (1908-1986; Lyman (1915-1999); Henry (1922-2005); Grover (1927-2009) and four sisters: Iva McDuffie (1911-1998); Leona Cowan (1913-2009); Leila Belle Harper (1920-2010) and Thelma Wainwright (1929-2001). She is survived by one sister Ruby Howell and One sister-in-law Edna Rowell.
A member of Camp Pinckney Baptist Church, her life legacy was being a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Above all, she was a dedicated servant of Christ. She loved her family and was always sure to tell her loved ones of the many wonders of her Lord.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at Shepard Funeral Home from 6 until 8 PM. Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of the funeral home. Burial will follow in Homeland Cemetery.
