Mitzi Roy

Mitzi Johnson Roy, 44, of Hilliard, FL went to be with Jesus at her eternal home on Thursday, October 5, 2023. She was born in Jacksonville, FL on May 3, 1979 to the late Harold Franklin Johnson and Florence Miller Johnson. Mitzi was a lifelong resident of Hilliard. She graduated high school in 1998. She was very smart. When she was younger, she won a school spelling bee. She had a very good memory. She worked for the post office for 15 years. You could say someone’s name on her route, even after she no longer worked there, and she could tell you their whole address. Currently, she was the manager at Wendy’s where she worked the breakfast and lunch shift. She has been employed there for 4 years. Mitzi took pride in knowing everyone’s voice and order. She always had the biggest smile and the most encouraging words. Mitzi’s family was the most important thing to her. Her pride and joy were her children and her beloved granddaughter, better known as “Bug.”

She is survived by her children; Alexis Roy, Hunter Roy, and Tebow Roy, granddaughter; Trislyn Marie, the father of her children; Joey Roy, 8-siblings; Louise Smith, Johnny Resseau, Kathy (John) Balance, Janice Spann, Monte Johnson, Mickey (Linda) Johnson, Marty Johnson, and Michael Johnson, several nieces and nephews, and two special friends who were with her until the very end; Amy Hodges and Kathy Walker.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM on Friday, October 13, 2023 at Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home. A service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at River Road Baptist Church with Rev. Hal McIntosh officiating. Burial will follow at Buford Grove Cemetery.
