Mildred Thrift

Mildred Inez Hickox Nelson Thrift, 90, of Hilliard, FL passed away Thursday, January 30, 2020 in Orange Park, FL. She was born December 9, 1929 in Hoboken, Georgia to the late Noah David Hickox and Amanda Estelle Lee Hickox.  She was a homemaker and member of Live Oak Baptist Church in Callahan, FL.  In her younger days, Inez enjoyed fishing, gardening and canning food.  Till the end, she took great joy in country music, a clean house and spending time with her children.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband:  Odis Clifford Thrift; a daughter:  Susan Estelle Nelson Prescott; 4-sisters:  Thelma Crews, Vera Ingram, Mary Herrin and Annie Maude Hauser; 3-brothers:  James Robert Hickox, Floyd Hickox and David “Dubie” Hickox and a grandchild:  Jessica Nelson.  Inez was the last of 7 siblings.

She is survived by her children:  David (Margaret) Nelson, Charles (Susan) Nelson and Debbie (Bill) Hoskison; 7-grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 3 at 11:00 AM in the Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jimmy Thrift officiating.  The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Winn Cemetery in Blackshear, GA.
