Michael P. Wisler (Coyote Mike), 63, of Folkston, Georgia, formerly of Oak Harbor, Ohio, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2024, at Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick, Georgia. Michael was born on July 4, 1961, in Port Clinton, Ohio. He was a 1979 graduate of Oak Harbor High School in Oak Harbor, Ohio. He married his high school sweetheart, Cathy (Domokos), on September 6, 1980, at St. John Lutheran Church in Oak Harbor, Ohio. He graduated from Hobart Welding School in Troy, Ohio. He served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Saratoga CV 60 as a Hull Tech from 1982-1986 Master AA, hence the reason he and his wife moved to the Florida/Georgia area. He was a journeyman and worked for Ray’s Sheet Metal Union and contracted at Kennedy Space Center.
Mike was an avid hunter and trapper. He had a lucrative fur and trapping business. He created wonderful memories with his grandchildren, whom he loved and adored following in his footsteps. Mike was a die-hard Buckeye’s fan.
He is preceded in death by his father-in-law: Sonny Domokos.
He is survived by his wife: Cathy; his son: Travis (Alisha) Wisler, of Folkston, GA; daughter: Sierra (Ryan) Pafford, of Patterson, GA; grandchildren: Landan, Heath and Riley Pafford; step-grandchildren: Leah, Kain, and Jace Boatright; brothers: Greg (Christy) Wisler and Tim (Tammy) Wisler, all of Oak Harbor, Ohio; sisters-in-law: Amy (Jeff) Behm and Kim Domokos all of Oak Harbor, Ohio; mother-in-law: Janet Domokos of Oak Harbor, Ohio; nephews: Greg Wisler, Jr., Zach (Sarah) Wisler, and Aaron Wisler; nieces: Angelia Williams, Amy Wisler, Andrea Behm, Rachel Jakubec, and Allison Wisler; and great-nephews: Anderson Williams, Vincent Behm, Michah Jakubec.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Folkston Methodist Church with Pastor Robbie Paulk officiating. Burial will follow at Homeland Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. At Coyote’s request, please wear camo or woodsy attire to the service.
