Michael Maddox

Michael James Maddox, 61, of Folkston, GA passed away Sunday, January 24 in Jesup, GA.  He was born February 20, 1959 in Folkston, GA to the late Robert J. Maddox and Mary Lois Lloyd Prescott.  He was a member of the Sand Hill Hunting Club in Perry, FL and served as the Past President of the Charlton County Saddle Club.  He was also a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Folkston where he served as Pastor.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2-brothers:  Kevin Maddox and Christopher Prescott.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years:  Myree Maddox; 4-children:  Lois Maddox, Chasity (Chris) Prescott, Doug (Micheala) Popp and Donovan (Chelsea) Popp; 6-brothers:  Craig (Carol) Maddox, Danny (Michelle)Maddox, Billy (Beverly) Fouraker, Shaun Prescott, Duane (Lori) Cooper and Dale (Amanda) Cooper; a sister:  Amanda Wright; mother:  Pat Clark; grandchildren:  Caleb, Jay, Taylor, Ezekiel, C.J., Haley, Maybree, Maddox, Landry, Ellie and Wilder; great grandchildren:  Milee and Ja’Anna and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 29 at 11:00 AM at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Rountree and Rev. Sammy Spradley officiating.  The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.

Memorialization will be by cremation.

Due to the COVID-19, the family would like to ask all to please follow the rules of social distancing and face mask are recommended at the service.   Also, anyone who does not feel comfortable with attending the service, the family would like for you to know they understand and covet your prayers.
