Mary Reed

Mary Lois “Cookie” Sikes Reed, 77, of Hilliard, FL, passed away November 12 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Jacksonville, FL.  She was born April 16, 1938 to the late Champion Dewey Sikes, Sr. and Sallie Mae Denmark Sikes.  She was the owner/operator for a number of restaurants in the Hilliard area.  Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister:  Emma Jean Shaw and her grandson:  Gregg Howarter, Jr.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years:  Donald Reed, 3-Children:  Michael Reed (Gayla), Donna Howarter (Gregg) & Deborah Evans (Clarence); a Brother:  Champion Dewey Sikes, Jr.; 4-Grandchildren:  Chad Reed, Kevin Reed, Emily Holmes & Brittany Young; 5-Great Grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The family will receive friends Sunday, November 15 at Shepard Funeral Home in Folkston, GA from 6-8 PM.  Funeral services will be held Monday, November 16 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Shepard Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Wolgamott officiating.  Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Hilliard, FL.
