Mary Newman

Following A battle with cancer, Mary Sue Newman, 78, of Callahan, FL passed away June 1, 2019.  She was born May 24, 1941 in Harrisonburg, VA.  While living in Harrisonburg, Mary Sue was a beautician and still has family there.  She became a resident of Florida in 1975 and married her sweetheart, Franklin August 14, 1976.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fargo and Ruth Nutter and a step-son:  John Randall Newman.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Franklin L. Newman; 2-sons:  Jeff Mowbray and Mike Mowbray; 4-step children; 4-grandchildren; 4-great grandchildren as well as other family and friends.  Her closest friends were Janice Barnhart and Louise Lee (Rachel Ray).

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 4 at 11:00 AM at Buford Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Curtis Harrington officiating.  The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Pallbearers will be the men of the church.

Donations may be made to the Buford Grove Baptist Church building fund.
