Mary Thompson Lloyd Crews, 86 of Folkston went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 3, 2009 at St. Vincent's Medical Center, Jacksonville, Florida.
She was born in Waycross, Georgia to Ben and Elizabeth Cox Thompson on November 22, 1922 and was a lifelong resident of Folkston. She was a living and caring Nurse, and had worked at the Charlton County Training Center. Mary was a member of Camp Pinckney Church and taught Sunday School for over 60 years. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother. She was most remembered by her children for her prayers, guidence and wisdom in leading them to the Lord. She will be greatly missed by her friends, family, Church family and her best friend Tia.
Survivors include: Two sons: William A. Lloyd(Cathy) of Waycross; Dane Lloyd(Linda Sue) of Folkston: Nine Grandchildren; 21 Great-grandchildren; Many Nieces, Nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her First Husband and the father to her children: Rayburn Cecil Lloyd; a Son: Dennis Jackie Lloyd; and her second husband: Hugh Crews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 6, 2009 from 6 until 8 PM at Camp Pinckney Baptist Church and request that Memorial Contributions be made to the Church. Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at the Church at 11:00 AM with Rev. David Beckham officiating. Burial will follow in Pineview Cemetery.
