Marjorie Elaine Carter Crews, 70, passed away Sunday, December 1, 2019. She was born April 18, 1949 in Charlton County Georgia to the late Alton John Baptist Carter and Lorene Beatrice Crews Carter. She received her Education Specialist Degree from Valdosta State University. She retired from the Bacon County Primary School as a 1st grade teacher after 25 years of service. After retirement, she continued as a substitute teacher. She attended Sand Hill Baptist Church
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister: Althea Starling and a brother: Jackie Carter.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years: Jake Crews; children: Jason (Brandy) Crews and Angie Crews; sister: Etheleene (Lamar) Kitchings; brothers: Buddy (Faye) Carter, Tommy (Sheila) Carter and Timmy (Vicki) Carter; 5-grandchildren and 7-great grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
The family will receive friends Thursday, December 5 at Shepard Roberson Funeral Home from 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 6 at 1:00 PM at Sand Hill Baptist Church, 10380 US Highway 1, Folkston, GA 31537 with Rev. Trent Long officiating. Burial will follow at Racepond Cemetery at Sand Hill Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Zack Carter, Quinton Carter, Arliss Carter, Jeff Highsmith, Randy Kitchings, P.J. Pruitt and Jonathon Hipp. Honorary pallbearers will be Sand Hill Baptist Church and D.Ray James maintenance department.
