Margaret Mealor Shedd

Margaret Mealor Shedd, age 88 of Toccoa, GA went to her heavenly home on February 25, 2023 at Life Care Center of Hilliard.

    Margaret was born on May 4, 1934 to the late Lewis and Cleo Flanagan Mealor.  She was married to Reverend J.D Shedd for 48 years. Margaret was a Sunday school teacher who adored children and loved making them laugh. She loved being outdoors, traveling to see different sceneries, going to church, and listening to old gospel hymns. Cooking and baking for family events was one of her favorite things to do.

Margaret is preceded in death by her Parents Lewis and Cleo Mealor, Husband Reverend J.D Shedd, son Carl Shedd, Daughter Judy Raper, Grandson Timothy Shedd, 2 Great Grandchildren, a great great grandchild and Brother Pete Mealor.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children Harold (Wanda) Shedd, Roger (Debra) Shedd, Debbie Shedd, 6 grandchildren; Lorraine, Meshell, Rockey, Rusty, Amanda, and Hannah, 20 great grandchildren, 21 great-great grandchildren, 5 siblings Jimmy Mealor , Pat Kesler, Helen Kelly, Peggy Saylors, Jackie Smith, and many more that knew her has “Grandma”.

Margaret spent that last 7 years in Life Care Center of Hilliard where she formed an extended family.  Lastly, we would like to thank each and every one of the Staff and family members who have helped keep grandma comfortable in her last days. 

The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home in Folkston, GA from 5-7 PM.  A funeral service will begin at 7:00 PM in the chapel of Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Boutwell and Pastor Rob Griffis officiating.  The family will receive friends Friday, March 3 from 12-2 PM at Acree-Davis Funeral Home in Toccoa, GA with funeral services beginning at 2:00 PM.  Pastor Wayne Marcus will officiate. Burial will follow at Stephens Memorial Gardens in Toccoa, GA.
