Louise Elder

Louise HIckox Elder, 89 of Brunswick passed away on September 16, 2011 at her residence. She was born April 6, 1922 to Evan and Sally Harris Hickox. She was a lifelong resident of Charlton County and had lived in Brunswick for the past twenty years. Ms. Elder was a member of Open Bible Baptist Church in Brunswick, Georgia.
She is survived by her four daughters: Betty Jean Walker(Delmus) of Cordova, Al. ; Mary Alice Spencer(Bobby) of Brunswick, Ga.; Faye Dowling of Folkston, Ga.; Sandy Hiatt of Brunswick, Ga.; one brother: Edward Hickox of Jacksonville, Florida; Nine grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren and thirteen Great-great-grandchildren; Several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

The family will receive friends Monday, September 19, 2011 from 6 until 8 PM at Shepard Funeral Home. The family request that Memorial contributions be made to Open Bible Baptist Church, 601 Old Jesup Rd., Brunswick, Georgia, 31520. Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 20, 2011 in the Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 PM with Rev. Sheldon Chapman officiating. Burial will follow in Corinth Cemetery.
