Lott Winston Turner, 72 of Folkston passed away December 1, 2009 at Southeast Georgia Health Systems, Brunswick Campus.
Lott was a lifelong resident of Charlton County and was born to Jesse Edward and Fanny Odell Johnson Turner on August 4, 1937.in Jeff Davis County. He worked for the Forestry Division and retired after 31 years. He was a member of Gideon International for many years and was a deacon at Philadelphia Freewill Baptist Church for 35 years.He also enjoyed years of farming.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years: Anita Crews Turner of Folkston; four daughters: Iris Turner of Folkston; Donna Drury of Folkston; Sherri Cox(Jim) of Pierce County; Pam Prevatt(David) of Pierce County; one brother: Charlie Turner(Elizabeth) of St. George; three sisters: Barbara Todd(John Willie) of Racepond; Lynne Crews(Charlie) of Waynesville and Brenda Espinuva
grandsons: John and Josh Owens; Brandon and Matt Drury; four granddaughters: Jessica Drury, Galen Cox, Megan and Jordan Prevatt; one great-grandson: Jayden Owens; one brother-in-law: LaVerne Crews; three sisters- in- law: Jean Buchanan(Robert); Leola Crews; Leona Brisbane(Chuck); several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister: Betty Crews; and one brother: Jesse Turner.
The family will receive friends Friday, December 4, 2009 from 6 until 8 PM at Shepard Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 5, 2009 at Philadelphia Freewill Baptist Church at 2:00 PM with Rev. Gene McCullough and Rev. Parnell Aldridge officiating. Burial will follow in Homeland Cemetery.
