Lois McConnell Lloyd, 75, went to be with Jesus, September 15, 2017 in Jacksonville, FL following a lengthy illness. She was born March 31, 1942 to the late Ivor McConnell and Iris Walker McConnell. Lois was a 1960 graduate of Hilliard High School. She came to know the Lord and was baptized at First Baptist Church of Hilliard at a young age. She taught Sunday school and sang in the Choir at several Churches including Sherwood Baptist Church. Lois loved the stage and was a member of the Island Player Theatre Group in St. Simons Island, GA. Always a great support for her twin sons, Lois and her Ex-husband Harold Lloyd were founding members of the Brunswick High School Booster Club and Valdosta State University Booster Club.
Lois retired in 1999 after more than 30 years of service with Georgia Department of Family and Children Services and Georgia State Patrol Driver’s License Division. She was the first women to be named a regional supervisor for the Division of Driver’s License. Lois enjoyed being an active member the Georgia Peace Officers Association throughout her career.
Lois is survived by her 2-children: Ray and Ron Lloyd; a brother: Cris McConnell; 2-sisters: Iva Jo Germany and Sandy Burnett; 3-grandchildren: Ashley, Ariel, and Brody; 6-Great Grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
