Liston Eugene Gooding, Sr., 81, of Woodbine, Georgia, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, December 3, 2024. He was born in Woodbine, Georgia on November 27, 1943, to the late James Eugene Gooding and Agnes Miller Gooding. Liston served in the United States Army.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter: Sue Croft; and a brother: James William Gooding.

He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years: Helen Moore Gooding; 7-children: Liston “Chip” (Karen) Gooding, Jr., Melissa (Kevin) Boyer, Ray Morgan, Joe Morgan, Sonja Knowles, Tina (George) Beecher, and Gene (Jen) Morgan; 15-grandchildren; 21-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives that loved and adored him.

A graveside service will be held at 4:00 PM on Monday, December 9, 2024, at Colesburg Cemetery – 3701 Colesburg Tompkins Road, Woodbine, Georgia. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service.
