Leroy Owens, III

Leroy Owens, III, 51, of Hinesville, Georgia passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2023. He was born in Folkston, Georgia on April 12, 1972 to the late Leroy Owens, Sr. and Mary Deloris Gibbs.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter; Precious Wilford, brother; Leroy Owens, grandparents; Otis “Bo” Gibbs and Pearlie Mae Gibbs, uncles; Bill Bo Gibbs, Jr. and Willie Earl Gibbs, and aunt; Diane Brown.

He is survived by 4-children; Leroy “Heavy” Owens, Jr. (Kimberly Jones), Domonic Owens, Leroy “Tanka” Owens, Jr., and Reche “Earl” Williams, 4-grandchildren; Aubree Owens, Noah Owens, Aleah Owens, Ava Owens, and 17 other grandchildren, 4-sisters; Angelic Mizell, Lisa (Brian) Rauls, Ashley Oliver, Kimyetta Jackson, 4-brothers; George Owens, Ed Mack, Ben Owens, and Derrick Owens, 4-aunts; Darlene Redmon, Loretta Leonard, Patricia Gibbs, and Shirley Barnes, 4-uncles; Larry Gibbs, Arthur Gibbs, Harry Gibbs, and Anthony Gibbs, 4-nieces and nephews; Craig Primus, Rashonda Primus, Macheia Primus, and Michael Mizell, Jr., cousins; Marcus Gibbs, John Gibbs, Tony Redmon, Marlene Redmon, Kizzy Gibbs, Camille Richardson, Nicki Gibbs, Latisha Gibbs, Shakenya Gibbs, Latosha Leonard, Iady Gibbs, Pearlie Gibbs, Tina Gibbs, Aurtha Gibbs, Jamaine Gibbs, Victoria Huff, Kijuana Wilson, Brian Gibbs, Marauis Gibbs, Devonte Gibbs, Devon Gibbs, Shavonna Gibbs, Harry Gibbs, Tyra Gibbs, and Jaletta Roberson, and 6-great nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM on Friday, May 26, 2023 at Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at noon on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at Mt. Carmel Cemetery with Rev. Robert Alderman officiating and Harry Gibbs singing.
