Leon Walter Canaday, 77, of Blackshear, GA passed away March 31 in Waycross, GA. He was born in Callahan, FL to the late Josie Roy Canaday and Sarah Ethel Crews Canaday. He retired as a Radio Operator for the Jacksonville Public Works Department and was a member of the City Retirement Club.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister: Joyce Roundtree and 2-Brothers: Vasco Canaday, SR., and James K. Canaday.
He is survived by his wife: Ann Canaday; a son: Buddy (Tammy) Nobles; a daughter: Leigh Anne (Doug) Harris; a sister: Eva McMahan and 4-Grandchildren: Kasey Nobles, Kaleb Nobles, Kenley Nobles & Thomas Harris; a special brother-in-law: Bill (Susan) Durham; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday April 3 at Shepard Funeral Home from 10-12. Graveside funeral services will be held Friday, April 3 at 1:00 PM at Macedonia Methodist Church Cemetery in MacClenny, FL with Rev. Doug Harris officiating.
