Lawrence Bessent, 84, passed away in Jacksonville, FL August 29, 2017. He was born March 1, 1933 in Jacksonville to the late Wesley Owen Bessent and Hazel McManis Bessent. He was a member of Live Oak Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years: Sheila Faye Bessent; 2-Daughters: Ashley Melissa Bessent and Nita Louise Collins; 2-Sisters: Irma Lee Williams and Jeanette Raleigh; a Brother: Wesley Owen Bessent; 6-Grandchildren and a number of nieces nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 5 at 4:00 PM at Live Oak Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Wolgamott officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.
Condolences may be expressed by signing the guest registry at www.shepardfh.com. Arrangements are under the direction of Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home in Folkston, Georgia.
