Laura Nelson

Laura Faye Davis Nelson, 73 of Hilliard passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at her residence. She was born June 3, 1938 to Mack Hall and Laura Bagley Davis in Nichols, Georgia. She worked as Sexton over Pigeon Creek Cemetery for over 20 years and was very devoted to her job and her Church. She had been a member of Pigeon Creek Primitive Baptist Church since July 6, 1986.
Survivors include a Daughter: Teresa Ann Jackson of Folkston; 4 Sons: Robert e. Nelson of Hilliard; Lester W. Nelson of Hilliard; Wesley H. Nelson of Folkston; Jimmy M. Nelson of Hilliard; 4 Sisters: marline Thomas of Callahan, Vernice Branch of Ocoee, Florida; Mary Murray of Mason W.V.; Maxine Harris of Houston, Tx. Step-sister: Robie Jean Roddenberry of Folkston; 13 Grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and 3 great-grand’s on the way; several Nieces, Nephews and other relatives.
The family will receive friends Thursday, July 7, 2011 at Shepard Funeral Home from 6 until 8 PM. Funeral services will be Friday, July 8, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Pigeon Creek Primitive Baptist Church with Deacon Lester Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in Pigeon Creek Cemetery.
