Larry Johnson

Larry Dale Johnson, 63, of Folkston, passed away June 21, 2014 at his residence following a lengthy illness.  He was a native and lifelong resident of Charlton County.  He was the son of the late Louis Derwood “Dick” Johnson and Leona Morgan Johnson.  He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.  He retired as a Heavy Equipment Operator with Hercules, Inc. after 20 years.  Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother:  Charles “Singlewing” Johnson.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years:  Betty Kay Johnson of Folkston, GA; a Daughter:  Lisa Marie (Tony) Johnson; 2-Sons:  Brian (Tracie) Johnson and Kevin (Tanya) Johnson; 9-Grandchildren:  Kaylin (George) Register, Candice Manning, Bryce Manning, Kelsie Johnson, Brianna Johnson, Jamie Johnson, Cheyenne Johnson, Annalisa Johnson and Savannah Johnson; a Great Grandchild:  Allie Grace Register; a Brother:  Roger (Teresa) Johnson; 3-sisters:  Barbara Sue (Larry Joe) Brown, Freida (Cippy) Villa and Debbie Lartz.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 24 at Shepard Funeral Home in Folkston, GA from 6-8 PM.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 25 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Shepard Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Racepond Cemetery behind Sand Hill Baptist Church.
