Kenneth Skelton

June 25, 1944 — January 21, 2011

Kenneth Eugene Skelton, 66, of Hilliard, passed away Friday, January 21 at his residence following a brief illness. He was born in Tams, West Virginia to the late Gooch Hobart Skelton and Mary Mildred Lowe Skelton. He retired from Delta Airlines. He was a member and Deacon at the First Baptist Church of Hilliard. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Cuban Crisis aboard the USS Perry and was a member of the Tin Can Sailors.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years: Mary Lou Skelton; 2-Children: Amy Elizabeth Skelton and Marcus Eugene (Katie) Skelton; 2-Grandchildren: Marc and MacKenzie Skelton; 2-Brothers: George(Diane) Skelton and Wayne (Jane) Skelton; Sister-In-Law: Charlotte Skelton; In-Laws: Wylene (Johnny) Kirkland, Elsie Story, Wayne (Bettyanne) Lindsey, and Troy (Kathe) Lindsey; and his best Friends: WA and Lindia Marshall and their children, Matthew and Kevin and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter: Macie Lynne Skelton; a Brother: Ed Skelton; and a Sister and Brother-In-Law: Lois and Sam Turbeville.
The family will receive friends Monday, January 24 at the First Baptist Church of Hilliard from 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held at the church Tuesday, January 25 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Bobby Richardson, Dr. Richie Allen and Rev. Wayne Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Eddie, Dennis, Ryan, and Jason Skelton, Sammy, Ronnie, Donnie and Tommy Turbeville, and Tracey Brown.
