Juanita McLaurin

Juanita “Faye” Harris McLaurin, 52 went home to be with her Lord on March 23, 2010 after a long battle with cancer. She was born April 3, 1957 in Hilliard, Florida to the late Estelle and Roy Harris. Faye was the youngest of seven children. After graduating from Hilliard High School in 1975, Faye was employed by the United States Postal Service in Jacksonville, Florida. In 2008, she retired from the Postal Service after 33 years. She welcomed life with a smile and even her battle with cancer could not change her positive outlook on life. She attended Folkston Church of God and was a source of inspiration and hope to both her friends and family. Faye was a generous and loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend.
She is survived by her husband: Henry McLaurin of Jacksonville, FL; Two Daughters: Tasha(Jamie) Bennett of Folkston and Victoria Harris of Jacksonville, FL; Five Step Children: Antionette Squiare, Derrick Mclaurin, Michelle McLaurin, Traci McLaurin, Henry P. McLaurin IV all of Jacksonville, FL; Five Grandchildren: Jessie, Alley, Alexis, Tessa Bennett, and Amelia Davis all of Folkston; Two Brothers: Elmo(Caroline) Harris, and Elton Harris both of Hilliard , FL; Three Sisters: Mary Alice(Carroll) Manning of Woodbine, GA, Maxine (Johnny) Everly, Beatrice(Jimmy Cowart) of Hilliard; One Sister in law: Debbie (Dean) Harris Woehrle and many Nieces, Nephews and other relatives.
She is preceded in death by her Parents: Roy and Estelle Harris; One Brother: Mitchell Harris; One Son: Carl Burnette Harris; and her Nephew: James Elton Harris Jr.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 25, 2010 from 6-9PM at Shepard Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Friday, March 26, 2010 at Folkston Church of God at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery in Nahunta, Georgia.
