Joyce Roundtree

Joyce Louise Canaday Roundtree, 83, of Jacksonville, FL passed away October 28, 2014.  She was born in Callahan, FL to the late Josie Roy Canaday and Sarah Ethel Crews Canaday.  As a child, her family moved to the St. George, GA area and married Charles K. Roundtree.  They moved to Waycross, GA from 1957-1970 where she worked for King Edward Cigar Company before moving to Jacksonville and retiring in 1992.  She was a member of Dinsmore Baptist Church where she and Mr. Charlie operated the Dinsmore Ballpark Concession Stand for many years.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years:  Charles Kendrick Roundtree; a Daughter:  Susan Roundtree; 2-Brothers:  Vasco Canaday, Sr. and James K. Canaday.
She is survived by her 3-Daughters:  Mary Carter, Charlene Carter (Steve Dykes) & Beverly Wilton; 1-Brother:  Leon Canaday (Ann); 1-Sister:  Eva McMahan; 6-Grandchildren:  Michelle Garrett (Jeff), Chuck Roundtree (Teresa), Larry Carter (Krista), Renee Coltrane (Brian), Traci Roberson (David Jimenez) & Daniel Tucker; 18-Great Grandchildren:  Gabi Garrett, Zane Garrett, Haley Roundtree, Ethan Roundtree, Trey Taylor, Levy Carter, Chase Carter, Lainee Carter, Susan Smith, Sarah Coltrane, Austin Coltrane, Andrew Johnson, Payne Roberson, Bennett Roberson, EmmaRae Roberson, Joshua Jimenez, Isabella Jimenez & Michael Jimenez; 1-Great Great Grandson:  Benton Sellers; a Special Neighbor:  Chuck Griffin and Caregiver:  Katina Jones.
The family will receive friends Thursday, October 30 at Shepard Funeral Home from 5-8 PM.  Funeral services will be held Friday, October 31 at 11:00 AM at Dinsmore Baptist Church with Dr. Winson Butler officiating.  Burial will follow in Mill Creek Cemetery.
