Joyce Ellen Reed

Joyce Ellen Bass Reed, 79, of Jacksonville, FL passed away at her home on Saturday, October 14, 2023. She was born in Durham, SC on June 26, 1944 to the late Hoyt Bass and Lena Bass. Joyce was a member of First Baptist Church of Jacksonville.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by 2-sisters; Maxine Rich and Loraine Gibbs, and 6-brothers; Jimmy Bass, Durwood Bass, Reece Bass, H.W. Bass, Ernest Bass and Harold Bass.

She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years; Ernest Thomas Reed, 2-sons; Tommy (Kim) Reed and Danny Reed, 2-granddaughters; Danielle Marie Reed and Brandi Reed, great-grandchild; Merrick Thomas Marquez, and sister; Shelby Jean Edwards.

A service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at First Baptist Church of Boulougne with Bro. Ken Barney officiating. Burial will follow at Mill Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Michael Bryant, Robert Davis, Missy Godbold, Waylon Rewis, Mike Thompson, Joey West. Honorary Pallbearers will be Brian Brown, Larry Day, Kenny Edwards.
