Joseph Chesser

Joseph Lester Chesser, 54, of Folkston, GA passed away August 13 in Brunswick, GA.  He was born August 3, 1967 in Jacksonville, FL.  He graduated from Charlton County High School in 1986 and later from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Forestry.  He was employed with Pierce Timber in Blackshear, GA.  He was a member of Philadelphia Free Will Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years:  Kara K. Chesser; his sons:  Andrew (Taylor Mitchell) Chesser and Tyler Chesser; his parents:  Joe Lester and Donnie O’Quinn Chesser; a brother:  Tracy (Melinda) Chesser; a sister:  Molly (Gregg) Lombardo and his father-in-law:  Ralph Kinsey.

A graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, September 11 at 10:00 AM at Sardis Cemetery with Pastor Stephen Jackson officiating.  The family will receive friends at the cemetery from 9-10 AM.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Hugh Thompson, Randy Dixon, Clark Dixon, Jim Gowen, Steve Davis, Jerry Moore and Rev. Ronnie Pollock.

Due to Covid-19, the family would like to ask all attendees to please follow the rules of social distancing and face masks are recommended at the service.  Also, anyone that does not feel comfortable with attending the service, the family would like you to know they understand and covet your prayers.
